Music at Musings - Marina and the Diamonds, Wallis Bird, The Fratellis, One Night Only, B.o.B

Good afternoon everyone! Is anyone watching the Leinster Hurling Final today? COME ON KILKENNY! Oh, sorry about that. It comes out sometimes.

Anyway, welcome to Music at Musings, the part of the show where I show you some new songs that I am quite fond of. Because I'm nice like that. Let us begin!

Marina and the Diamonds - Oh No!

Oh No! has always been one of my favourite songs from The Family Jewels, and I'm so glad it has a music video now! I love Marina, and how sometimes she can be sexy, and quite vulnerable at the same time. And she looks great with red lipstick. This video is so much fun to watch, with the comic graphics, and the bubblegum moves, and the pretty dresses Marina wears, especially the dollar note one, and the dress with a map of the Mediterranean. The lyrics are so fun to sing!

Marina and the Diamonds - Starstrukk feat. Katy Perry (Live Lounge)

While searching for the video for Oh No!, I found this. I have always been a huge fan of the Live Lounge (I think I'll do a post on it soon...) but I've always hated this song, as performed by 3Oh!3. But Marina and the Diamonds + Live Lounge + violins = happy me.

Marina and the Diamonds - Obsessions

(Don't worry, this is the last Marina video... today.) I've always loved this song. The lyrics are so honest, and I have them by heart, even though you can't help but sympathize with Marina, and her IKEA diamond! Although it looks gorgeous at the end... And her feline jumper is beautiful!

Wallis Bird - La La Land

I know the first song to come to mind with that title might be the Demi Lovato version, but I think this is much better. Wallis Bird won a Meteor last year for Best Female, and God did she deserve it. Plus, she uses a kazoo. A KAZOO. I'm going to let that sink in.

The Fratellis - Creeping Up The Backstairs

One of the things that's great about The Fratellis is that they don't take themselves too seriously. Their songs are always so much fun! No wonder Flathead was used for that iPod ad. Creeping Up The Backstairs reminds me a little bit of the '50s... And it also reminds me of adventure, the unknown of a starry night. No, seriously, it does.

One Night Only - Say You Don't Want It

One starry night, a little girl curled up on her couch, all alone, and surfed the music channels, looking for guidance, inspiration, and cute indie boys. Then, on MTV Rocks, she found a video that seemed to match her tastes, and liked it very much. And then, all of sudden, she espied Emma Watson in the music video, Emma Watson being one of the little girl's Inspiro-Girls. And then her brother came home and stole the remote, changing the channel from MTV Rocks to Disney Channel, so she watched the rest on Youtube.

B.o.B - Airplanes feat. Hayley Williams

I've waited months for this video to come out, and it didn't disappoint. I'll be the first to admit that I don't like rap or hip hop, but I really like this. Maybe I should broaden my tastes a bit...

And that is it for Music at Musings today! Just one word of advice: Werther's Original Butter Toffees taste lovely with a glass of milk. At least, it does to me. That's what's kept me going all day!

High-Fives,

Dreamboard Status: Updated!

Hello, and welcome!

Remember the dreamboard I made back at the start of January? So I wouldn't have to make new Year's Resolutions? This is what it looked like then.

Nice, isn't it? Well, I've customised it again! Here it is, new and improved...

See? There's girls who inspire me, places I want to see, cool slogans, and some random models I thought looked cool. I know there isn't a lot of difference at first glance, but if you look a little closer...

High-Fives,

EleanorLight

Official Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Trailer - Tuesday 29th June 2010

No words are necessary. Until tomorrow, when I will blog about this cinematic wonder. I'm tired now. Watch it. Watch it. Watch it. Watch it.

If you're still reading this, you're not watching it!

Sunday 27 June 2010

Do I Deserve These? (Shush Eleanor, Or You'll Have To Return Them!) Ah. Thanks Eleanor. (I Shouldn't Have To Think For You!) You're My Brain. (Oh.)

OK, supermegabumper post coming up! You're welcome. I've been spending days writing this post, so sorry for any delays!

I have won two awards from Ace-Of-Aoife and Ailish, and I have been tagged by Ailish again! Hooray! Thank you very much girls! Now, on to business!

Right, this is the first award...

Nice, isn't it? Anyway, here's some requirements to fulfill... Dum de dum...

Get really excited that you got the coolest award ever!

*cough*Look up!*cough*

Choose one of the following options of accepting the Oh My Blog! award:
(a) Get really drunk and blog for 15 minutes straight, or for as long as you can focus.
(b) Write about your most embarrassing moment.
(c) Write a “soundtrack of your childhood” post.
(d) Make your next blog a ‘vlog’/video blog where you’re basically talking to the camera about whatever.
(e) Take a picture of yourself first thing in the morning, before you do anything else (hair, make up, etc) and post it.

Hmm... I think I'll choose (e), although you'll have to wait for tomorrow for a photo!

Pass the award onto at least three, but preferably more, awesome bloggers and let them know.

Okey-dokey then. Award number two is the Honest Blog Award. Thanks Ailish! Seems I have to answer these questions and then award six other honest bloggers. Alrighty.

Share one thing no one knows about you.

Hmm... I know! I don't tell anybody anything. I keep my cards very, very close to my chest. So there are lots of things no one knows about me, and that thing I just said is one thing. But now you know it. So it isn't valid. Why am I dissecting this question so much?

What is your biggest regret in life? (Hello, everyone has regrets!)

My biggest regret... is not stepping up to the plate when I should have, and putting away my pride, in order to help someone. It still haunts me.

Have you ever been jealous of someone else's blog page and why?

Oh, plenty of times! Most of the time it's just because they have such good relationships with their readers. I hope I get some of those relationships someday...

What would you do for $1000?

Take it.

What secretly makes you happy? (Money? Kids? Porn? Sunshine?)

What secretly makes me happy... If I told you that, then I would be openly enjoying it, and that wouldn't be fair, would it? (I know I'm not being quite frank answering these questions, I just don't want to be so truthful on the Internet, when it can upset a lot of people. Plus, a girl needs secrets.)

If you could go back in time, would you still pick the person you are with right now? And why?

Well, I'm not with anyone right now, except in my dreams... But I never planned to pick them, ever. And even if I could go back in time, I wouldn't pick them, but I would still fall in love with them, because I'd still be me, and I can't change that. Space-time continuum and stuff.

What do you like or dislike most about my blog page?

...I dislike how much I like your blog, Ailish, because I want to answer this question properly. Oh well. Let's try the next one!

If you could take a trip anywhere, who would you take with you?

I'd go to New York, and I'd take EVERYONE in Kilkenny Youth Theatre .(Inside joke time!) Including Anna, Keith and Ronan. (End of inside joke time.)

And now, the tag! This will be fun! OK, here are the rules...

1. Set your iPod or MP3 on shuffle.
2. Hit the next song button, and whatever it "lands" on is the answer to the question you were asked.
3. Laugh out loud at the answers.
4. Tag six people.

Are you male or female?

Broken Hearted Hoover Fixer Sucker Guy - Glen Hansard (:D)

What do people feel when they're around you?

Careful - Paramore (They should be! I'm very clumsy. I slipped three times yesterdayday!)

Describe your current relationship.

I'm Not Calling You A Liar - Florence & The Machine (So, in denial? Or in defense?)

Where would you like to be right now?

Kiss And Tell - Alexander Rybak

How do you feel about love?

I Gave You All - Mumford & Sons (Hmm... Feeling resentful today?)

What's your life like?

Viva la Vida - Coldplay

What would you wish for if you only had one wish?

Tremble For My Beloved - Mutemath (So, a beloved to tremble for?)

Say something wise.

If You Want Me - Marketa Irglova

How would you describe yourself?

Hot and Cold - Katy Perry

What is your life's purpose?

Alone - Glee cast feat. Kristen Chenoweth (Celine Dion cover. And how depressing is that prediction!)

What is your motto?

Brendan & The Secret Of Kells - Bruno Coulais and Kila (OK...)

What do your friends think of you?

Cops and Robbers - The Hoosiers (I never knew I was such a bad influence!)

What do you think of your parents?

Seven Nation Army - Vyvienne Long (Red Hot Chilli Peppers cover)

What do you think of very often?

What is 2 + 2?

The Monks - Bruno Coulais and Kila

What do you think of your best friend?

MK Ultra - Muse (...Right then.)

What is your life story?

Heavy Cross - The Gossip (It's a cruel, cruel world...)

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Howl - Florence & The Machine

What will you dance to at your wedding?

Hurricane Drunk - Florence & The Machine

What will they play at your funeral?

Gold Digger - Glee cast (Kanye West cover)

What is your hobby/interest?

Girl With One Eye - Florence & The Machine (Wow, there's a lot of Flo here, isn't it?)

What is your biggest fear?

Let The Flames Begin - Paramore (Yeah, arson isn't really on my Happy List...)

What is your biggest secret?

Just Dance - Maximo Park (Lady Gaga cover)

What do you think of your friends?

Hello, Brooklyn - All Time Low

What will you repost this as?

Candy - Paolo Nutini

Wow. How random. And now I have to award/tag six people!

Ladies, you can accept either award, and the tag if you wish. I love sowing seeds of confusion!

The Radleys

I have now read the best vampire book EVER.

OK, so I know I'm not Little Miss Vampire Book Expert Of The World here, since the only vampire books I've read so far (SO FAR!!) are the Twilight Saga and the Darren Shan saga. (Why are they sagas?) But in my opinion, this book is now ONE OF MY FAVOURITE BOOKS OF ALL TIME.

Yes. I went there.

It is called The Radleys, and it is written by Matt Haig.

I love the name Radley. It's so... mysteriously notorious. Kind of. Anyway, the book is about a family by the name of Radley, living in North Yorkshire. Rowan Radley, the eldest son, wears Factor 60 sun cream everyday and is always dead tired (see what I did there?) at daytime and wide awake at night, but doesn't know why. Clara, Rowan's little sister, has turned vegan, but the lack of meat is making her really ill. Peter, the dad, is getting thirstier than normal, and can't stop thinking about haemoglobin, and it's not just because he's a doctor. Helen, the mum, is trying to help her family appear normal to everyone else, but cracks are starting to show. Then, a week into her new vegan diet, Clara kills somebody and sucks their blood, and finds she and the rest of her family have a devastating secret... Yup, they're vampires. Enter cool uncle Will, Peter's brother, who seems to nurture a soft spot for Helen... Oh, and there's blood. Lots of it.

This book is funny, daring, and not afraid to push boundaries of normal vampire canon. And these vampires kill, so all you Twilight-haters can't claim they're not vicious vampires, and all the Twilight-lovers will love the drama! And it's written so well, it'd make you wish you had a vial of blood to gorge on every once in a while. Yep, I said it.

Go forth, my loyal readers, and read this book! You won't be disappointed.

I'm Wasting Coins Trying To Come Up With A Witty Title For This Post, So Think Of One Yourselves.

After reading a quite frank and honest post by Leanne Woodfull about slagging off people in general, I was forced to reevaluate what I think about people. For example, I say that the starlets on Disney Channel have no talent, but they're thousands more successful at what they do then I am, even though I will reach that level someday. And I read a lot of stuff about Taylor Momsen, and how she's gone all emo and it doesn't look good on her, and I don't agree with that. I mean, who wants to spend their whole time caring about other people's lives, when they've got a whole life of their own to look after? And in KISS magazine, they slag off Tavi Gevinson's hair, just because she's dyed it grey and she's only thirteen and everything. She should be free to do what she likes. I think it looks cool, although if it were me, I would go for a lighter shade, perhaps white, in a pixie cut... My point is, I'm going to stop caring about what I think about people, and be more open-minded. And I'm going to stop going on Gossip Girl. I hate Speidi. Plus, I've got a whole life of my own to sort out. And with the way things are going, it's kind of urgent.

Oh, and I'm in Dublin Airport now. My flight to Faro has been delayed, and I'm running out of money at the Internet kiosk, as you will note from this post's title. Damn!

High-Fives,

EleanorLight

Dum Dum Dum... Oh? What's This?

I am quite contented this minute. It's the sort of state book characters are in before their life changes unexpectedly. Perhaps their parents will die, or they will win the lottery, or they will move house, or a mysterious man will post them a mysterious letter... OK, it's the next minute now, and nothing's happened yet, so I'm going to get on with this post. The ice-cream deserving Snaily has given me an award! Hooray! (Ice-cream deserving... I have created a new term of praise. I am now a literary GOD!)

Aha! There are requirements I must fulfill! Onwards, keyboard!

*Display this award in some way on your blog.

'cough' 'Look up!' 'cough'

*Name seventeen of your favourite random things.
  1. Being right.
  2. Winning arguments.
  3. Making pancakes.
  4. Getting blog awards.
  5. Hammocks.
  6. My Sergeant Pepper/Kasabian's Empire video jacket.
  7. Horrible Histories.
  8. Tea (milk and two sugars please!).
  9. Being sarcastic.
  10. Discovering a new band, and loving it.
  11. Movie soundtracks.
  12. Eargasms! (A term invented - I think... - by a writer from PTS. Apparently they are 'ORGASMS in your EARS!' It's part of his music reviews.)
  13. Being right and winning arguments.
  14. Swimming in the sea.
  15. My iPod, with it's Paperchase cover.
  16. My blue and yellow Bershka headphones.
  17. Headbanging.

*Award four of your favourite random bloggers.

I think I'm sensing a pattern here, with this randomness thing... Anyway, these are four of my favourite random bloggers, so picked because they don't seem to fit into a genre all the time, such as fashion blogging or music blogging. Like mine!

.{Miss Vintage Vixen}.

Lauri Angel on the condition that she accepts that she IS good enough to accept my awards, because that's two now. And you are good enough. OK? And post something about your Irish Student Press article, (Yes, you are right people, that is a national newspaper!) because that was cool.

Anticlimax

After the jokes we've shared,
The worries we've endured,
The tears we couldn't shed,
The hope we grabbed -
I deserved more than a 'hey' as you passed.

(But as always,
We must account for the fact that
My mother was present.)

Quote Of The Week #11

Sam takes the bike and starts to wheel it towards the narrowbotat, and I have no choice but to follow along. 'People do hassle you when you don't fit in,' he says. 'It doesn't really bother me, and once they suss that they usually leave me alone.' I frown. 'Don't you want to fit in, though?'
Sam considers. 'Not especially. Why would I? I don't want to follow their rules and regulations, I just want to be me.'

Just Enjoy The Show...

So there I was, drafting a post, when I decide to go on to Musings, to check for comments and see if anything needs to be fixed, when I found a comment from Ariella, saying that she had made her own blog award, and I was one of the first recipients! After whooping and running around a bit, I sat down and started fulfilling the requirements. Which is what I'm doing now. OK, I have to post 'the weirdest picture that you've ever seen or taken' and since I don't really take photos that are weird (I never get the opportunity...) here's the weirdest photo I have ever seen...

I didn't take this, but I was still present when this was taken. But that doesn't matter. Look at that arm! Oh, and SGuitar is there too, in the middle. He's quite new to blogging, so give him a read! Yep, this is what Kilkenny Youth Theatre do in their spare time... Told you we were awesome.

And now I have to answer questions.

*Have you ever used Photoshop?

No, but I have used Picasa. I can't make photos the size I want them to for PTS posts though, which is really annoying! (PTS is for another post, dearies...)

*Have you ever wanted to kill your camera because you couldn't get the perfect picture?

Many, many times. But I dropped it in the snow a few months ago, and now parts of it don't work right, and it makes me sad. And it's really frustrating.

*Have you ever taken a picture from the top of a very steep hill or a cliff?

I try not to go near the tops of very steep hills and cliffs.

And now I have to give the award to eight other people...

The Stuff You Have Been Waiting Your Whole Life To Know!

Evening.

Remember when I said I unfollow blogs because I don't like how they write, and other various reasons? One thing is that if you feel you don't know the person behind a blog, the new posts from them that pop up in your Dashboard become insignificant. I will try to remedy this now:

Some Stuff About Me - Because Who Wouldn't Want To Know?
  • My middle name is Maura. Maura is for my grandmothers, who were named Mary and Myra respectively.
  • Last week, my Converse became too small for me, so I have no shoes. Until my new pair come in the post!
  • One of my greatest ambitions is to open an old-fashioned sweetshop, like the ones our parents used to go to, with huge slabs of toffee, and bonbons, and chocolate... You should all come!
  • When I was eleven, I took a solemn vow not to set foot in Penneys/Primark ever again, because their cheap clothes are made in sweatshops by five year-olds.
  • This is why I don't buy clothes very often.
  • I plan to marry Ed Westwick, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, Russell Brand, David Tennant, and Penn Badgley... Hee hee.

And now, something for your cinematic viewing pleasure!

Oh, I will also marry Charlie McDonnell too.

Three Blogs You Really Must Follow - Apart From Mine, Of Course.

Like the new look? The people behind Blogger have done an excellent job with the new Template Designer. You can even get three columns! I used to spend hours looking for the PERFECT TEMPLATE, and messing around with HTML, and then it wouldn't work and I'd be sad. So I'm glad they've introduced this.

Oh yeah! The point of this post! Well, here they are, after long and careful consideration from my Dashboard... (Please note that this is in NO PARTICULAR ORDER. OK? Good.)

*.{Miss Vintage Vixen}.

This was one of the first blogs I ever read, and my first one to love. Miss Vintage Vixen is spunky, witty, and completely fabulous! Twas also from her that I found my love for photography. I even interviewed her back in March as an Inspiro-Girl!

*Messy Carla: A Fashion Blog In A Size Sixteen

I found Messy Carla from her interview with Lisa Clark, and she seemed so happy and bubbly that I logged on to her blog immediately, and it didn't disappoint. Her blog is just so much fun to read, and the looks she puts together rock!

*Thunder + Threads

I found Leanne's blog, Thunder + Threads from a feature in Kiss magazine. It's just so... cosmopolitan? And she's just seventeen! Well, it's older than I am anyway... But this is one of the best fashion blogs I have ever come across!

Now, I want your recommendations! If you think there's any blog I'd enjoy reading, put it in the comments!

Quote Of The Week #10

Bellatrix was still fighting too, fifty yards away from Voldemort, and like her master she dueled three at once: Hermione, Ginny, and Luna, all battling their hardest, but Bellatrix was equal to them, and Harry’s attention was diverted as a Killing Curse shot so close to Ginny that she missed death by an inch -
He changed course, running at Bellatrix rather than Voldemort, but before he had gone a few steps he was knocked sideways.
“NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!”
Mrs. Weasley threw off her cloak as she ran, freeing her arms. Bellatrix spun on the spot, roaring with laughter at the site of her new challenger.
“OUT OF MY WAY!” shouted Mrs. Weasley to the three girls, and with a swipe of her want she began to duel. Harry watched with terror and elation as Molly Weasley’s want slashed and twirled, and Bellatrix Lestrange’s smile faltered and became a snarl. Jets of light flew from both wands, the floor around the witches’ feet became hot and cracked; both women were fighting to kill.
“No!” Mrs. Weasley cried as a few students ran forward, trying to come to her aid. “Get back! Get back! She is mine!”
Hundreds of people now lined the walls, watching the two fights, Voldemort and his three opponents, Bellatrix and Molly, and Harry stood, invisible, torn between both, wanting to attack and yet to protect, unable to be sure that he would not hit the innocent.
“What will happen to your children when I’ve killed you?” taunted Bellatrix, as mad as her master, capering as Molly’s curses danced around her. “When Mummy’s gone the same way as Freddie?”
“You - will - never - touch - our - children - again!” screamed Mrs. Weasley.
Bellatrix laughed, the same exhilarated laugh her cousin Sirius had given as he toppled backward through the veil, and suddenly Harry knew what was going to happen before it did.
Molly’s curse soared beneath Bellatrix’s outstretched arm and hit her squarely in the chest, directly over he heart.
Bellatrix’s gloating smile froze, her eyes seemed to bulge: For the tiniest space of time she knew what had happened, and then she toppled, and the watching crowd roared, and Voldemort screamed.

Things I Really Must Do Over The Summer

  • Finish Fresia*
  • Try to go to beach - often
  • Go for picnics in Castle Park
  • Go to Holidays premiere
  • Read 100 books
  • Write list of 100 books to be read
  • Write at least three articles for PTS
  • Don't stay up all night and sleep all day, such a waste. (This blog post is being written at 00:52. I love burning the midnight oil, but it's really difficult because I can't wake the rest of the house, and they can't know I'm up... Why did I have to get the creaky door?)
  • Get new clothes.
  • Watch three Audrey Hepburn movies.
  • Get new Converse.
  • Dye hair bright red.

*Oh! I never told you I was writing a play! Well, I am. In fact, I'm on the second draft. It's called Fresia, based on an imaginary world I once created with a friend back in Sixth Class. We're not friends anymore (BITCH!) but the play has a lot more death, violence, depression and theatre references then what actually happened. I hope I can take it somewhere when it's done...

01:02 now. Hmm... Oh! I need to know - which layout do you prefer, this or the Shabby Blogs style? I was annoyed that when I uploaded videos from Youtube, you could never see the full frame, even when I chose the smallest size, and I like Minima now. I'd like to know what you think.

This post will probably be followed up by another one tonight... See you soon!

Music at Musings: Paramore, The Coronas, Stornoway, The Pretty Reckless, Franz Ferdinand, Kasabian, Biffy Clyro

Rightio. This is the second Music at Musings tonight. Let's get started.
Paramore - Careful
Because that's one of the band's best songs, in my opinion. Great video too. Watch out for all the sights!

The Coronas - San Diego Song

This might be quite old, I know, but it's new to me... Well, kind of. I had heard it before, I just never found out who was the artist. But now I know! Isn't Ireland awesome?

Stornoway - Here Comes The Blackout...!

This was iTunes' Single Of The Week, and since I like anything free, I downloaded and got a pleasant surprise. It's very short, but that makes it sweeter.

The Pretty Reckless - Make Me Wanna Die

When I first heard of this band, I wasn't expecting this song to be so... I'm not sure. Punchy? But I like it! It's not Lenka, but it rocks! I'll be keeping an eye on this...

Franz Ferdinand - Eleanor Put Your Boots On

This is also a new discovery! Of course I love the title (!) but it's catchy, and the video is breathtaking... Reminds me of Tim Burton.

Kasabian - Empire

Do I really have to say why I love this, or is it obvious? Fine. Fantastic, meaningful lyrics, great video, and I love any song I can headbang to. Is that clear? Good. (Sorry for being ratty. I haven't gotten a lot of sleep in a while.)

Biffy Clyro - Mountains

This is just so... powerful... you know? And the lyrics are fabulous. (Hmm... I don't think Hot Press will be knocking on my door anytime soon...)

I have to tell you all so many things... but I wanna go to sleep! Tomorrow! Oh, and I need to ask you: do you like the MUZU soundtrack up there, or do you prefer the Mixpod style?

High-Fives,

EleanorLight

Music at Musings: Florence + The Machine, The Heathers, Lena, Marina And The Diamonds, Daisy Dares You, Fleet Foxes, Bat For Lashes

I had to split this Music at Musings in two, because I wanted to show you fourteen different artists, but that was too much. So there's seven here, and seven in the next Music at Musings. Now, this is the part where I enthusiastically tell you to crank up your speakers.

Florence + The Machine - Cosmic Love

Yep, it's her new video, Cosmic Love! I love this song. 02 Ireland used it for their 02 Blueroom ad, so it's really popular here. She's also contributed a song, Heavy In Your Arms, to the Eclipse soundtrack. I'll probably write a post on that too, but I have a rule that I don't get a movie soundtrack until/unless I've seen the movie first. So you'll have to wait for July.

The Heathers - Remember When

I hadn't heard of The Heathers until their song Remember When was featured in a thirty second ad on for Discover Ireland, for tourism. Now everyone likes it, including me.

Lena - Satellite

Instead of our fabulous Niamh Kavanagh, Lena from Germany won. And I voted for her, I still like her song. But only 25 points?! Oh well. And I love the Eurovision, I'm a huge fan. This, and block voting and all that comes with it, really depresses me. But enough about that. I like this song. So this is it.

Marina And The Diamonds - Mowgli's Road

I'm not sure when this video was released, but I love this song. It's so... feral. And I don't know why people say she's crazy. In a bad way, I mean.

Daisy Dares You - Rosie

I think this is even better than Number One Enemy. Number One Enemy is about Daisy's sister Scarlett, Rosie is about Daisy's best friend... I don't know why people have to sing about sex all the time. You know?

Fleet Foxes - Mykonos

This song makes me want to skip through forests, wearing flowery dresses with bare feet and flowers in my hair, with that dream boy... Sigh... And I love the geometry effect.

Bat For Lashes - Daniel

This makes me cry. (Still a good song though.)

And now I'll publish this, and get started on the next seven... See you then.

High-Fives,

EleanorLight

Now Then, My Dears...

I've been blogging for eight months now (EIGHT MONTHS! I feel so old...) and one thing that really bugs me is something that I'm going to tell you not to do, because I care about you, and I don't want you to be annoying other people. Like me. Not that you would of course, no way. You must be nice people, you read Musings. Oh God, I'm babbling again.

Don't follow someone's blog just to get followers.

What happens with me is, people start following Musings, and then I check out their blogs, and I say 'Oh, I like this!' So I start following them. But after a few posts, I realise I don't really like their voice after all, because it takes me a while to figure out if I like a blog or not, and I am EXTREMELY picky. So I then unfollow a blog, and then they unfollow me, for the mere reason that I'm not following them anymore. I know that you may think I'm being fickle, by changing my mind when I'm already following them, but they should be reading this blog because they like it, not just because they want to get more readers for their own blog. It's really annoying, and unfair. Gah! It's nice to know that I have some nice readers here. Plus three people who I know IN ACTUAL REAL LIFE. Yes, REAL life. The one that I eat in. So... thanks then. Oh, I should make that better.

Thank You Everyone, For Reading My Blog, And Commenting, And Tagging Me, And Giving Me Awards, And For Being Really, Really NICE! I Now Award You All With This Emoticon From Me:
:)
So... thanks then.
High-Fives,

Break A Leg, But Make Sure None Of These People Are Watching...

  • During a performance of the play El Hyder in which the hero has to fight seven villians single-handedly, a man in the audience leapt on to the stage and punched all seven villians to the ground.
  • An actress playing Juliet in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet uttered her line 'Where are my father and mother, nurse?' so convincingly, the actress' father called out 'We're here darling, in Row H.'
  • A soldier once got so cross that a character in a play had lied about not having a ring, he bounded onto the stage and made the character fetch the ring from it's hiding place.
  • An actress once gave such a genuine performance of a poor, friendless young woman that a man in the audience leapt up and offered to befriend her.
  • The fire effects used during a performance of a show called Norma were so realistic, a stagehand ran out of the auditorium screaming for help.
  • A rough and ready sailor watching the musical SS Pinafore was appalled to see how badly the scenery ship had been rigged, so he shouted out instructions to the actors for doing it properly.
